#DOswts357 Color Blocking Inspiration Hop
Happy Saturday everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend.
I am participating in a blog hop with my upline Dawn and our team.
This time we were challenged to do color blocking.
This was out of my comfort zone, but I am happy with the end result.
A challenge always teaches me a lot.
The way I made this card was to choose 5 different colors of cardstock.
I chose Balmy Blue, So Safron, Highland Heather, and Granny Apple Green, all cut to 1 and 10/16ths inches using the Layering Squares Framelits.
I used a card base of Soft Seafoam (which does not show up well here, but is a very soft green color) cut at 5 and 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches, scored at 4 1/4 inches.
I placed a little repositional tape on the backs of the 4 squares pieces and lined them up as shown on the card. I used my Stamparatus (great tool for making sure your stamp is clear and positioned correctly).
I stamped the tree with the girl under it from the Summer Days stamp set.
I then removed the four squares and adhered them to the card base using Stamp and Seal tape.
I stamped the sentiment using the stamp set A Grand Kid.
I adhered 3 Butterfly Gems around the sentiment.
This will make a great card for my granddaughter who turns 13 in April.
Feel free to case this card if you would like.
Below are the supplies I used for the card.

What a fun technique and great card Diane!
ReplyDeleteLove this - talk about getting color without coloring images, great idea. I think I am going to have to try this really soon.
